and Midwifery Seminar:
Reproduction is of high level in most cultures, Infertility is private and
public as well as social issue that is rising through the world. The averages
of about 10% of Iranian couples (10-20% around the word) are suffered from
infertility. Infertile couples are faced with difficult event of infertility
issue because of psychosocial complications so that its psychotic reactions
result in mental problems and reproduction rate decrease.
Infertility
is caused tension for infertile couples in all aspect of the life, so facing
with this crisis should be total observation and include inseparable medical,
mental, spiritual, social and cultural treasures of infertility. Medical items
are emphasized in ART centers despite of other items.
Modern
medical techniques are created new ways for infertility treatment. Specialists
in infertility centers have a lot of responsibilities that made it difficult to
wide consultation with every patient. Some patients according to limited time
of consultation with their own doctors are only come across gynecological
problem treatments or other medical fields and psychotic support is less
considered.
Therefore,
significant matter in this situation is perception of nurses and midwives role
during treatment. giving assurance to couples, effective communication,
consultation and education to the patients, management of different stages of
treatment, cooperation with specialists in treatment, researches and research
case collection in different unites of ART roles is of importance in this
group.
Direct connection with patient to explain instructions and provide
complete information in screening period, during treatment and afterward
highlight the role of nursing and midwifery group and so knowledge and skill
improvement in management, consultation and treatment through different courses
as educational, seminars and related researches is its basic part.
To increase the knowledge and scientific level of nurses and midwives in ART
clinics, we decided to organize the symposium of "Nursing and Midwifery In
Reproductive Medicine" in Farsi language, first time in 2006 along with the
Royan International Congress on Reproductive Biomedicine and Stem Cells
Biotechnology as symposium that changed to seminar by improving the scientific
level of articles and research presentation by our colleges in this field. As
well as we had two invited Speaker (midwife) from other countries in the last
year.
This
year we will invite our colleges from other countries to exchange our
information and experiences too and improve scientific level of our colleges in
Infertility field.
The
seminar is organized by the nursing and midwifery manager of Royan Institute,
and support of ART doctors and assistants of the institute.
The
scope of subjects of the seminar is as follows:

Common reasons of infertility and up-to-date ART techniques

The role of nurses and midwives in Donations and use of third party
-
Special nursing care in infertility(Recurrent Abortion, Endometriosis, PCOS,
POF, RF,…)

The role of informing and education of infertile couples in success rate of ART
-
How to get in touch with infertile couples in case of psychological, social and
medical problems
-
Effective basis on success rate
-
The role of nutrition in infertile patients
-
The role of nurses and midwives in prenatal care after ART and high risk
pregnancies
-
Nursing managements in relation with infertility treatment side effects(OHSS,
Twin pregnancies,…)
We
are hopefully going to hold the 7th "Nursing and Midwifery in
Reproductive Medicine" on September, 5-7, 2012 with more information and high
level articles and reviews from all over the world.
We accept abstracts only in English, but the lectures will be in Farsi
language by English power points to be more efficient and useful for Iranian
participants.
